Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Brett Michael Innes is a bestselling author and SAFTA-winning screenwriter. He has had features and shorts that have premiered in competition at festivals like Sundance, IFFR, Tallinn Black Nights, Atlanta, IFFK, Sydney and Urbanworld while two of his features - SINK and FIELA SE KIND - were awarded the South African Film & Television Award (SAFTA) for Best Film and Best Screenplay in their respective years. He recently entered the world of television, directing on the Series Mania 2024 selected crime series, CATCH ME A KILLER, and is currently directing on the second season of the Netflix 'Global Top 10' Original, UNSEEN.
