My name is Brigitte but my nickname is Gitta.I am 25 years old , I am a 3rd Year BEd Foundation Phase student. I started studying education 4 years ago, I had to do a bridging course because I did Electrical engineering and had no background into the field.
I love working with children, I am patient and have a great sense of humour.I have tutored my friends kids, as she is from Bangladesh and her 3 kids are born here.Her son was only 3 years old when I started tutoring , and guiding him to learn the alphabet and reading books to him and asking him questions.He is now 10 years old on Grade 4 and he is the top student in his grade.
I am currently tutoring her daughter that is 7 years old. She struggles as she gets distracted easily but I have the patience and so far we have made it to 5 letter words and recognising the sounds.
I have been in a school/teaching environment since 2019. Minus the year 2020 where I did not go to a school for teaching practice.
I have been at teaching practice since 2019-2022 . This has been different schools which I attend and go in every second week Monday-Thursday. As a student teacher where I observed the first week and have lessons to teach In my 3rd Year (Current year) I had the privillege to attend a special needs school for a week.
