I was born and raised in Klerksdorp in the North West where I completed my NSC school career and went on to study and obtain my bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (B. Eng) at the NWU in the nearby Potchefstroom. I value honesty, integrity and clear respectful communication and hope to embody those values in my career going forward.
I have a great sense of humor and enjoy lighthearted banter when appropriate. I am passionate about computers and technology resulting in me being very computer literate and lead to me having an interest in coding and being an enthusiast in the 3D printing hobby. My other hobbies include fishing, camping and model building and painting.
I also believe in self-improvement and learning new skills, due to this I am currently pursuing my SolidWorks CSWA & CSWP and learning Python for use in the engineering and data analysis field.
I am passionate about efficiency and environmental impact and I hope to pursue a career where my work and professional development can address these factors in a meaningful way. I am also looking to develop my skills and competency to become an expert in my craft and hopefully transfer the skills I have acquired to future young engineers. I am also interested in pursuing my registration as a Pr.
Eng should the opportunity become available and overlap with my career path. To facilitate my long-term development and goals, I am looking to commit myself to company for a medium to long term to establish myself and grow with the company. I also have an interest in the project management aspect of the broader engineering field and I hope to develop in the project engineering field alongside my mechanical engineering duties.
Alongside the personal development and being able to do individual work, I hope to form part of a team of professionals in various fields to solve more complex engineering problems.
I am currently available to start working, only requiring a notice of two to three weeks to relocate to the working location.
Observation of operational procedure, project management, QA, QC and documentation alongside the application and research of required SANS- and client standards at Ruco Engineering. The vacation work was centred around the observation of operational procedure, project management and adherence to legal and client standards during the operational period of a company that constructs mining steel structures and conveyances. The period involved research into applicable standards, how these standards were met and the QA and QC of the product through NDT and the documentation thereof.
Time was also spent in the project planning and management of an ongoing construction including site inductions, safety procedures and scheduling.
