A highly experienced Senior Software Engineer and Systems Architect, with 35+ years of software engineering experience in roles ranging from Analyst, Programmer, DBA to Systems Architect. Extensive expertise in framework design and implementation, specializing in Java and the Spring ecosystems. Demonstrated success delivering multiple high-quality, complex, robust and scalable systems, from initial concept to live operations.
1990 I Started my professional IT career as Analyst Programmer for SAPS Information Services. Worked on a new Docket Management system for Detectives, Crime Administration System and others.
1995 I joined the team responsible for rescuing the NaTIS(National Traffic Information System) where I created a framework that enabled rapid, agile, application development. I ended up as 4GL Team Lead for this highly successful project.
2001 I was appointed System Architect and eNaTIS Specialist on the technology upgrade and rewrite of NaTIS. Once again responsible for the framework design and development.
2011 I was part of the team that founded IceTech. Here I followed through with another two frameworks. The first for the Mozambique Licensing System and the second the now Flagship Application ENGINE. An abstract, domain-agnostic, meta-data driven framework that enables rapid,
low code, development of user defined systems.
2025 Freelance Consultant. Design and implementation of a new AI-enabled, low/no-code, user configurable, domain-agnostic, metadata-driven framework. a Rework of my previously created Low-Code Engine, improving its architecture into a streamlined, single end-point, system of systems, through innovative design, efficient code, and dynamic deployment architectures and strategies.
1990 - Commission for Administration. Analyst/Programmer.
2004 - Dip(Data)(Cum Laude) - UNISA.
Hundreds of courses since then. AWS, iDesign AMC/PDMC, Udemy, O'Reilly, etc.
