I believe I will be a great addition to a staff as I have excellent inter-personal skills, I am organized and work well as part of a team and as an individual. I am fully computer literate, have excellent time management skills and am of sound character. I have a calm and collective manner when dealing with difficult situations and approach all problems with a positive attitude.
I taught at De Kuilen Primary School for 5 years as a Gr.2 Teaching Assistant. My duties included but were not limited to teaching, creating and planning lessons, administration, coaching sport (Netball, Mini-Rugby, Mini-Cricket and ball skills) and helping in event planning at school (e.g Mr. & Miss DK, Staff functions, etc). During this time, I assisted with ELSEN students to prepare them for assessments and consolidation.
In 2017 I joined the TaLK Programm in South Korea. I was placed in Gangneung, Gangwondoand taught at KangDong Elementary School (grades2 – 6) for two years as a Native English Teacher. Whilst in South Korea I was also a Teaching Consultant for new teachers in the Gangwando area.
Travelling to their schools; giving them advice on teaching techniques as well as methods that could help them improve their lessons and make contact time more effective. I was recruited to join GYL (Global Youth Leaders); this was an English club that taught high school students how to prepare speeches and debates. During summers I taught and organized camps at both my own Elementary school as well as Jumunjin High school.
In 2019 I returned to South Africa and was hired as a Gr.1 Substitute Teacher from April – December at De Kuilen PrimarySchool. I was also part of organizing both staff and school events. From 2020 – 2022 I taught ESL online to students from Germany, Poland, Belarus and South Korea.
In January 2022 to Dec 2022, I taught in a contract grade 2 position at Highbury Primary School. In 2023 I was appointed at Apex Primary School as a Grade 1 teacher where I taught children coming from various emotional and social backgrounds as well as students with ADHD and depression. I also participated in various committees that included Fundraising, Community Keepers, Social and Spot On (Awards).
Together with Community Keepers I helped implement the “Anti-Bully Ambassador” badges for students who display positive and inclusive behavior.
I believe in helping every student reach their full potential and creating a fun, inclusive and enriching learning environment for students.
