Chrina Van Staden

I graduated in 2022 with a four year BA-degree in Fine Art at the University of Cape Town. My plan is to study towards a master’s degree in art therapy. In preparation for this, I want to take up community care and support work as to gain experience in contributing to person-centred, high-quality care that makes a difference in the lives of vulnerable people.

Looking out for the interests and well-being of people is very important to me and I like working with people. For example, I taught dance to children aged 6 to 15 during afternoons of my grade 12 year in high school. I work diligently and reliably. I treasure sincere, steady and mutually trusting relationships and approach people with an attempt to understand what their lives and challenges are about.

Michaelis School of Art, University of Cape Town Cape Town, SA The Silent Auction Committee was responsible for fundraising towards their graduate show and obtaining artwork donations from renowned artists and Michaelis School of art graduates.

Volunteer work: painting a tuberculosis mural  January 2022

Stellenbosch University Stellenbosch, SA

• Painting a continual mural over four large pot boxes in collaboration with the Division of Molecular Biology and Human Genetics, Stellenbosch University to raise TB awareness in the Kraaifontein affected community.

Dionysus Sculpture Works Pretoria, SA

Internship under supervision of its founder, the artist Angus Taylor.

• The work included the bronze casting process ranging from mould making, wax casting, welding to patination.

Alethia’s School of Dance Pretoria, SA

• Taught Hip-Hop dance to children aged 6 – 15 for South African Body of Dance exams (SABOD)
• Taught Modern dance to children aged 6 – 13 for South African Body of Dance exams (SABOD)
• Choreographed and coached Modern duets for ‘Stars of Tomorrow Performing Arts Championships’.
• Choreographed and coached Hip Hop groups and duets for the competition, ‘Battle of the Giants All Styles Dance Sport Festival’.
