I am seeking industry experience within the field of renewable energy. I am also open to roles as an electronic design engineer and software developer.
After completing my studies, I had developed a keen interest in electric power systems and asked my research supervisor for a possible freelance opportunity in July 2019. I was then given a role in August 2019 as a Research Assistant at Stellenbosch University on a project investigating the possible integration of renewable energy wind generators to DC battery banks. My main responsibilities were to research and design the system and to perform simulations within the Matlab environment and to gather vast amounts of experimental data in Microsoft Excel.
I also co-authored the final research article and presented the findings at the January 2020 South African Power Engineering Conference (SAUPEC) in Cape Town.
I completed my Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in August 2019. In November 2018, my final year project heavily focussed on power engineering studies and the frequency stabilization of the South African grid network. Even though I majored in Telecommunications in my final year, I had been assigned a final year project in the field of Energy Systems. Afterwards, I began to develop a very keen interest in this particular field.
