I'm a backend-focused developer and technical director with about 5 years of running my own managed service provider — supporting anywhere from 15 to 20 companies with their infrastructure, networking, and systems integration needs.
That experience gave me something a bit unusual: I can write solid code and I understand how businesses actually work, having built and run one myself. I'm now looking to move into a backend or AI/automation engineering role. It's a deliberate career shift — one I've been planning for a while.
Running a services business long-term means constantly thinking about where things are headed, and I made the call to set the business up sustainably so I could pursue what I'm genuinely passionate about: software development, ideally within a strong engineering team where I can keep growing.
Technical Director at Universal IT Services (2021-01 – Present)
I run both the technical and operational sides of the business — managing two staff members, designing and implementing scalable solutions for our clients, while also keeping on top of the finances, project delivery, and building out our internal processes. Essentially, I've had to wear a lot of hats, making sure things run efficiently day-to-day while keeping an eye on where the business is heading long-term.
Technical Role at The Support Force (2021-08 – 2022-07)
Supporting live business environments while also contributing to infrastructure automation and web-based projects.
Technical Role at BCX (2020-07 – 2021-07)
Infrastructure operations and software development experience.
Technical Role at IT Lab (2019-12 – 2020-06)
IT support and infrastructure operations.
Technical Role at iSquared (2018-04 – 2019-09)
Early software development and IT support experience.
