I, Danielle Michael, a qualified food technologist from the Durban University of Technology (DUT),
would like to enquire about a position at your company. I consider myself a diligent person who is flexible, self-motivated, and responsible and is able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
In my current position as a process leader at Clover SA I have experience in process control in which I oversee and manage the production of fresh cream/sour cream and active drink. I monitor the processing and the quality of the product during preparation and production. I also have experience in SCADA and HMI systems.
This position has given me understanding of the manufacturing business environment and the production environment. This role has improved my leadership skills and decision making skills. During my time at DUT I have gained practical laboratory experience (2015-2017), with extensive research and laboratory work during my
Bachelors and Masters degree (2018-2020) which resulted in 3 publications in international journals. I completed an internship at Jem SA (2017), a confectionery manufacturing company,
where I was a part of the food safety team with hands on experience in both HACCP standards and BRC Global standards. I have experience in food safety and quality assurance, good manufacturing practices (GMP’s), research and development, quality control, document control and implementation, and knowledge of food safety policies and procedures required in industry. I also have experience in new product development, product specification, analytical analysis,
chemical analysis, microbial analysis as well as data analysis.
These above positions has allowed me to develop the skills necessary to work within a research based environment and as well as the manufacturing business environment. It has given me experience to work with people of different personalities and backgrounds and has taught me how to build strong relationships. I am confident that I could be an asset to your team given the opportunity as I am very interested in acquiring and developing new skills in my chosen field , I am willing to learn and give my best.
I am extremely passionate about food science as well as research and would be grateful to receive the opportunity to prove myself, gain experience and broaden my knowledge base within the field.
