SHIFT BOSS - EXXARO MATLA MINE 1 & 2

• Plan, implement, manage and lead Inbye & Outbye areas of an underground coal mine to ensure reliability and availability of equipment and labour for production, material for production and water reticulation (pumps, pipes, seals and underground dams).
• Ensure effective availability of underground conveyor belts.
• Ensure maintenance of all conveyor infrastructure (H-frames, rollers, top frames, installation, joining and extension of conveyors and tail-ends).
• Adhere and enforce relevant safety regulations and manage legal compliance (Mine Health and Safety Act) and Mine COP, Standards and Procedures.
• Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company's plans and vision and communicate them to subordinates.
• Responsible for overseeing processes relating to coal production, contractor management, road building, pumping of water, ventilation and belt inspections.
• Continuous improvement of operations within the department, thus
• Ensuring all Codes of Practice and Standard Operation, and Safe Work procedures are understood and adhered to.
• Providing regular feedback to mine overseer on progress and problems encountered during production.
