I have over 20 years of professional experience in the private, public and non-profit sectors. Currently, I’m a I’m a Director at Ikaya Resources, which is an investment holding firm with interests in the mining sector. This role entails identifying new investment opportunities for the business, finalising investment agreements, overseeing current investment partnerships, business strategy, financial management and project management.
I was a Director at Mazra Solutions, which is a consultancy firm that provides advisory services on economic analysis, risk management, evaluation and monitoring, local and regional economic development, investment and finance for the public and private sector. My duties entail identifying new business opportunities, overseeing current projects, project management and financial management
Prior employment includes the Anglo-American Group, where I developed the Group’s policy and advocacy response on issues in relation to land reform and mineral royalties. In addition, I have interacted with a number of southern African governments in facilitating private sector participation in infrastructure development as well as regulation of network industries during tenures with both the World Bank Group and the South African Competition Commission. Moreover, I have assisted in developing capacity building programmes for women in government whilst employed by the Office on the Status of Women (OSW) in the Office of the South African Executive Deputy President.
Areas of expertise include business development, business strategy and design, monitoring and evaluation techniques, policy development and review, infrastructure regulation and competition policy, PPP techniques in infrastructure, economic analysis, stakeholder relations and engagement policy.
I graduated from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom with a Master’s degree in the Global Political Economy (GPE). Additional qualifications from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa include a Bachelor of Honours degree in International Relations, an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Political Studies, as well as a Certificate in Finance and Accounting from the University of the Witwatersrand Business School.
