I am Dirk Willem Nel, a 37-year-old male who is currently employed but looking for better opportunities. After schooling I started internship at an audit firm in Lichtenburg where I acquired skills in bookkeeping, compilation of financial statements, financial auditing, completion and submission of tax returns for companies, trusts and individuals, Vat return submissions and objections, PAYE/UIF/SDL return submissions and PAYE reconciliations. After 2 years of service, I moved to Pretoria where I accepted employment in a similar role at Hancke-Potgieter Auditors.
After working for them for 1 year 10 months I was offered employment from a group of companies who operated in the mining industry and property investment industry. Here I acquired skills in financial management, budgeting, liaising with financial institutions and external auditors. I also gained experience in managing personnel.
I am a energetic, ambitious person who puts a huge amount of trust and confidentiality into my work and has great attention to detail. I am a self-motivated person and deadline driven. I have good management and communication skills which helps me with problem solving.
I am adaptable in any office environment whether it is corporate or small to medium sized employment. My goal is to grow in my career to become a Manager of an Accounts Department, or the financial Manager of a company or group of companies.
I am looking for a permanent position where I can use my knowledge and experiencce to assist the company to better financial controls and increase profitability through better financial management and cost accounting.
