I am Dumisani Nyandeni, I have a BSc in chemical engineering and Master of Business Leadership (MBL). I have more than 15 years of experience in the chemical, oil and gas industry. The companies I worked for are Afrox, PetroSA and Kent. My experiences are among others; air separation, gas separation, Sythol units, crude distillation unit, diesel hydrotreater unit and commissioning of the KIPIC crude distillatilation unit in Kuwait.
I am experienced in troubleshooting, material and energy balance, heat-exchanger rating, pump selection, safety valve sizing, optimisation, Hazop studies, PHA reviews, risk assessments, incident investigations, plant operating procedure updates, coaching and mentoring, and many more.
Air Separation unit, Carbon dioxide plant, Gases Operation Centre (gas cylinders), design, installation and commissioning of waste system, sizing of a closed circuit cooling system, writing of operating standards, Hazop studies, equipment sizing, design and installation of oxygen and nitrogen backup system.
Air Separation unit, liquefied natural gas, synthetic oil unit, crude distillation unit, diesel hydrotreater, waste water treatment, rig platform and projects. My experiences among others are; plant monitoring, troubleshooting, material and energy balance, psv sizing, equipment data sheet updating, turnaround & shutdown scope gathering and execution. Startup procedure update, writing of startup procedure, debottlenecking, chair Hazop studies, chair PHA reviews, chair incident investigations, initiating of MOC, project punch out, mentoring junior engineers, sizing of control valves, heat-exchanger duty evaluation, installation of column trays, pump selection and projects.
Commissioning of the KIPIC Al Zour refinery in Kuwait. Optimized the crude distillation unit, optimized the stripping steam to the column. Did performance guaranteed test run.Optimised desalter ensuring that the chloride are washed out. Did mass and energy balance. Monitor heat-exchanger duties still within design specification.
