As a recent MSc graduate from the University of The Witwatersrand, I am eager to join the workforce where I will be challenged and inspired to grow as a scientist.
My work experience revolved around the teaching of undergraduate science students, particularly guiding the students through the processes of performing complex molecular biology techniques and experiments.
I also have experience guiding undergraduate students on how to properly present their work in a scientific and accurate manner
During the course of my MSc, I was challenged with the novel expression, purification and characterisation of a recombinant cellulase from Cryptococcus gattii, which was successful.
During the course of my research, I have become proficient in a number of molecular biology techniques such as: bacterial transformation, nucleic acid and protein extraction and isolation, recombinant overexpression, protein purification, biophysical characterisation and functional characterisation.
