Ebrahiem Davids

My name is Ebrahiem Davids. I am currently completing my Honours in Human Resources Management at the University of the Western Cape. I completed my undergrad at the North West university Potchefstroom campus.

Sanlam searches for talented individuals who can uphold its strong values of integrity, commitment, teamwork, and respect to name a few. I would appreciate your careful consideration of my credentials, which I hope will illustrate how I will be able to bolster the firm’s values and why I am capable of being a fitting candidate for both programmes. As a prelude, I will briefly canvass a bit about myself and my experience.

Throughout my undergraduate studies, I naturally gravitated towards roles and initiatives that required me to be proactive about my ambitions – predominantly ambitions of servant leadership. Early on, I was compelled to push my boundaries and seek constant improvement. My approach became more practical as a result. A test of my character ensued, but the subsequent growth I achieved, I deem invaluable.

While I was studying at the north west university, it was difficult to get work experience as I was on a rugby bursary, and it took up most of my time, but this did not stop me from getting into leadership roles. In my third and fourth year I was the financial head of the residence I stayed in. The role required unwavering commitment to my fellow brothers in the residence and taught me how to maintain the consistency of service I was giving in each case.

I dealt with many situations that prepared me for life after studying. Playing a team sport at a high level has taught me many skills I can put to use in the real world such as teamwork, communication, diversity and having empathy towards people.

Leaving after matric to a completely new place with no family and friends has made me mentally stronger. I have realised that with my four years of being away from home that I can achieve anything if I put in the hard work and commit to a goal. The lessons and struggles that I have experienced will undoubtedly help me in the future, nothing is impossible of you believe in yourself and have the courage and character to complete.

I believe I have the ability, necessary skills and personality that will fit in with the core values of Sanlam.

The possibility of being considered as a candidate excites me. I can assure you that an investment in me would not be wasted.
