- Check for documents available on benchmark and contact the relevant stakeholder for the outstanding ones
- Interview potential beneficiaries and people who might have information about the deceased member
- Ensuring that all claim documents are received timeously and that they contain required information
- Compilation of the summary reports and the presentation thereof to the Board of Trustees for the distribution of death benefits
- Give feedback to the claimants and arrange for financial advisors for the beneficiaries in need of financial advice
- Submission to the payment department all documents required for the processing of payments (cash letter, bank statements, investment documents & FICA documents)
- Monitoring of payment process which includes following up with the payment department on behalf of beneficiaries
- Ensuring that I understand the information to present to members (induction, member education, pre-retirement as well as financial wellness)
- Simplification of information presented to ensure that all members understand all information relating to: Retirement benefits, the process thereof and tax implications; Withdrawal process the process thereof and tax implications; Distribution of death benefits; Medical boarding process; Two-pot system
- Ensuring that member's questions, confusions and misconceptions are attended to
- Ensure that each client feel welcomed and free to: Express the purpose of engagement; Ask questions and follow-up questions; Give honest feedback on how the issues were handled; Complain or give concern if the need be
- Ensure that the clients are professionally engaged and assisted to his/her satisfaction
- Ensure proper and professional engagement with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure cost-effective and yet productive performance of my duties
