I have been involved in the construction industry for approximately 36 years. The projects I was involved in range from new build, refurbishment, maintenance and demolishing works. Through this time I gained experience on both client and contractor side of the various projects.
The experience I gained was both on a managerial and of a technical basis. I have learned many communication skills from motivating and guiding work teams to execute their works, integrating multiple contractors to complete a common goal and interact with clients and contractors to achieve their goals, the understanding and the implementation of quality and safety has formed a great deal of my experience as it forms a cornerstone of the success a project achieves. The handover from construction to commissioning and completion of to the client has also enriched me with knowledge to understand the link between commission and completion of plant to the client's requirements.
My exposure to the FIDIC contract has also enabled me to understand remedies and possibilities within contract that can be used to overcome challenges within a project
