• Leading OHS teams in Ghana and Sierra Leone to implement the company’s OHS Policy, review, develop and implement operational standards and procedures striving to create a sustainable Zero Harm Safety Culture. Introduced road safety, electrical and machinery safety, leadership in safety initiatives and fail-safe controls that included vehicle speed limiters, vehicle roll over protection structures and machinery interlocking mechanisms.

Executive - Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Security (SHEQS) 

• Implemented and evaluated the company’s Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental strategy and advised EXCO and the Board’s Risk & SHE Committee on compliance and resourcing requirements.
• Led SHEQS teams at 18 operations in 6 countries (South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia and eSwathini) performing risk assessments, conducting incident investigations, and providing corrective action recommendations, driving an effective mechanism that ensures that lessons are learned and best practice is entrenched.
• Delivered key construction project management goals, coordinating cross-functional teams - eliminated fatalities; limited lost time injuries to less than 5 in 3 million hours - Xinavane Sugar Mill - Refinery construction (ZAR 500 million), Tongaat Hulett Developments –land development; sewerage works, road construction, civil works (ZAR 1 billion), Germiston Starch Mill - Aledex plant construction (ZAR 120 million), Huletts Refinery – carbon emission reduction plant (ZAR 90 million).
• Selected as the Corporate Risk Regional Manager of the year (2015) by NOSA, South Africa, having managed participated in internal and external audit programs i.e. ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and NOSA systems.
• Reduced fatalities from 11 to 1 in 3 years after developing leading and lagging indicators to manage the SHEQS efficiently and after pioneering critical risk control initiatives (Vehicle safety, electrical and energy isolation, machinery guarding, lifting operations and confined spaces) while overseeing all plant, equipment, vehicle, and compliance standards and reviewing all HSE documentation and systems. 
• Championed strategic sourcing for SHEQS as category specialist, continually monitoring the performance of the SHEQS supply chain to ensure it added value and supported delivery of the company’s strategic sourcing targets.

• Headed an EHS team responsible for the environmental management programme focusing on pollution prevention, water and air quality monitoring, waste management and compliance with legislation; saved 40% of regulatory costs.
