Given Sigauqwe holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in politics and philosophy with economics, media studies and international relations as minors. Given is a National Research Fund (NRF) recipient, a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship fellow, and the first cohort member of the first Public Affairs Research Institute (PARI) research fellowship. He has worked as a politics reporter at the Mail & Guardian, a Content curator and project manager for Trialogue Consulting, and a project lead for Opera Software South Africa. In his relatively shortcareer, Given has demonstrated a great desire to learn, improve and excel. These traits, amongst other things, have propelled him to two several management positions. Among some of his other achievements Given has been part of several lead front page stories for arguably the biggest newspapers in Africa, the Mail & Guardian, despite having no formal journalism training. Lastly, in 2021, Given was named as one ofSouth Africa’s 100 most influential young professionals by Avance Media.
