Gloria Makochieng

A final year Masters in Visual Arts student with experience in the hospitality industry, and in working in academic settings. I am an outgoing, hardworking individual with great social skills. Having recently worked as a Junior Gallery Host and as a Lecturing Assistant, I am well adapted to working in teams, using online booking systems and Microsoft Office to key in administrative information, and interacting with guests and students to ensure overall satisfaction.

I am also a quick, dedicated learner with a keen eye for detail making me suited to maintain a high standard of neatness and cleanliness in whatever environment I am in. I am familiar with local tourist information, art history and curation, fine-dining settings, and delivering personalized information to visitors as well as to students.

I have experience in the hospitality industry, and in working in academic settings. In the past, I have also volunteered as a student curator/ gallery assistant at Stellenbosch University's gallery, and as an assistant at a flower and gift shop in Port Elizabeth.

I am currently a final year Masters of Visual Arts student at Stellenbosch and hold an Honours and Bachelors Degree, also in Visual Art.
