Gwendolyn Makura

I am an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist, with 17 years in the Industry. I am currently a an area manager in one of the biggest pathology Laboratories in South Africa with 6 Teams reporting to me. I am passionate about leadership with a co-creator Leadership agility. I'm busy on a Masters degree in business leadership (MBL). I will make a valuable addition to any team that hires me.

I have worked as a Medical Laboratory technologist in a Clinical pathology laboratory for 11 years. I then moved to the quality department of the same company Lancet Laboratories as a Quality Assurance officer. I was then promoted to a supervisor position within one year.

I later joined another organisation, Invest in Africa as their SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) manager for 4 years. I later opened a Laboratory of my own with a friend. The business did not thrive in the tough market in SA.

I went back to Lancet Laboratories as a Laboratory manager in 2019, was promoted to area manager within 18 months, the position I currently hold.

I Have an Honors degree in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences from the University of Zimbabwe. I also acquired a BTech degree in Quality management from the University of Johannesburg. I have a post graduate diploma in General management from Regent Business school and am currently studying for a masters degree in Business leadership at the University of South Africa Business school (SBL - School of business leadership).
