I am a safety manager who has built a strong safety team through effective coaching and communication resulting in increased employee engagement.
Facilitated the implementation and interpretation of contractor safety system. Evaluated systems & practices in place against standards & make recommendations for improvements
Utilize the safety data base to analyze statistics and develop actions in the district for improvement.
Coach and advise contractors and Sappi staff on safety and occupational health issues.
Apply the necessary means to effect change and improve safety. Communicate safety and occupational health transgressions to contractors, Sappi operational staff and managers to ensure corrective action is taken. Coach staff on their responsibilities and accountabilities in terms of the OSH Act Assist contractors and Sappi staff to carry out incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
Ensure that accident simulations are done on a regular basis to have a high standard of alertness and expertise.
Masters degree in Environmental Health.
