I am a queer artist and overall creative with experience in gallery administration, exhibition installation, art handling/packaging, sales, research & writing, and marketing.
As gallery assistant for two Galleries, I have experience in a range of responsibilities from social media, exhibition installation, cliental service, sales, art packaging, catalogue design and general administrative tasks. My interest in art has allowed for me to develop skills that are necessary for the fast paced art-scene within Cape Town.
My passion and admiration for art inspires me to keep pushing myself outside of my comfort zone.
At Artvark Gallery I am currently the Co-Sales Manager. I have been in this position since October of 2022, and continue to co-manage the sales with my colleague. Since starting this position in November of 2021, I have acted as Front of House and general gallery assistant.
As the FOH of Artvark Gallery I must open the space, warmly welcome and guide interested customers through the space, answer any questions regarding the space itself, have knowledge of all artworks & artist biographies, perform everyday administrative tasks (answering emails and follow up on & creating quotes) and conduct all in-store & online sales. I currently have a big hand in inventory maintenance; conducting stock takes, working the excel and Pastel POS systems, back-end administration, VAT reports, artist liaising, ordering materials for the gallery, organising delivery arrangements and provide professional artwork packaging where needed. My duties have also extended to training new staff, curating the physical space, website maintenance & taking photos for advertisements on various platforms.
I understand I have listed many tasks, but as a small team of 4 there are no tasks wasted. While I have thoroughly enjoyed learning every aspect of Artvark Gallery, I am itching to expand my field of experience.
