I currently reside in Cape town and work as an academic lecturer and medical scientist at the University of Cape Town
To date I have:
- 12 years of experience in analytical biochemistry, ISO 17025 and 15189, accreditation, quality assurance and quality control
- Extensive knowledge in spectrophotometry, gas and liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry amongst other analytical techniques
- Excellent organizational, written and oral skills
- Teaching and training of undergrad and post-grad students, interns and in-service trainees
- Registration as a medical scientist in Clinical Biochemistry with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa
I have fulfilled various lab duties such as document control, stock management and report writing. I have been involved in both method development, validations and training in GC-MS and LC-MS (including QTOF). I have gained extensive hands-on experience in MS equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, method development and validation.
I consider myself to be passionate, enthusiastic, diligent, determined and always trying to learn. I am equally proficient at working alone and in a team.
