Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:
Translate and implement the broader learning strategy, standards and policies into regional strategies, standards, policies, frameworks and procedures.
Drive supporting technologies and systems to ensure an effective combination of different modes of delivery and models of learning to improve the learning experience.
Ensure a healthy talent pipeline through applying effective workforce planning initiatives.
Identify performance gaps and learning needs through application of skills audits and needs analysis.
Drive the regional learning planning cycle and ensure alignment with talent management cycle.
Ensure that all business units are kept informed of all SETA and learning legislative changes and provide guidance and support with the translation of these into practice e.g. Accreditation, workplace audits, assessments and moderation practices.
Manage skills development initiatives through partnership with SETAs and FET providers.
Uphold SETA accreditation through compliance to skills development legislation.
Facilitate and co-ordinate SETA accreditation and workplace audits in line with legislative requirements.
Manage internal and external learning programs, e.g. Learnerships, Internships, Work Integrated Learning.
Manage and co-ordinate discretionary grant application and submission processes aligned to SETA requirements.
Manage, analyse and track SETA skills levies and mandatory grant payments.
Compile annual Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report and manage supporting processes and resources.
Conduct Learning Health Audits to enhance compliance to group minimum standards, governance frameworks and learning legislation.
Evaluate service providers in terms of quality of material, learning delivery and manage vendor database and contracts.
Manage the L&D Specialist team and L&D Super User teams to address business needs through effective needs analysis and providing fit for purpose learning solutions.
Manage career development and succession plans for the regional learning and development teams aligned to talent management processes.
