Tracking and Tracing Operator / Logistics Controller - Anderson Transport - Wellington

- Ensure efficient vehicle utilisation, maintenance and tracking coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure that they are maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition (license renewals)
- Maintenance of vehicles: Monthly inspect and arrange for services and repairs. Book vehicle with dealer for region
- Vehicles effectively and efficiently utilised, maintained and tracked

- Maintain contact with the relevant licensing authorities, the police and insurance companies on a range of issues relating to company cars
- Take relevant action in the event of incidents such as accidents or hijacking: Take statements in conjunction with HR (investigate)
- Liaise with regional representatives regarding implementation of the system
- Well maintained and roadworthy fleet
- Advise staff on all legal and compliance matters relating to vehicles
- Attend to the administration of the company's car policy to ensure compliance
- Fuel card control: Administer fuel cards
- Identify trends, poor driving behaviour, etc.
- Pre and post vehicle delivery inspections

- Monthly visits to the Traffic Department to ensure all speeding fines are paid. Submit fines to driver(s). Arrange for payments of fines. Follow up outstanding items

- Manage the maintenance, preparation and routing of purchase orders
- Prepare accurate bills of lading

- Review purchase orders and shipment contents prior to releasing them from our facility

- Oversee the time delivery of goods. Maintain delivery schedules and track deliveries to ensure deliveries are met.

- Monitor and report driver issues such as accidents, safety concerns, or licensing
- Analyze delivery costs and recommended more cost effective methods of transportation.
- Negotiate contracts with outside transportation companies, assign drivers to routes, handle customer complaints, and investigate delivery issues. These may include damaged products and late or lost deliveries.
- Establish company routes concentrating on customer service.
- Ensure to dispatch all company drivers.
- Ensure to receive all phone calls from drivers any hour in day.
- Ensure to track routes to assure on time deliveries to customers.
- Review and arrange all transportation paperwork inclusive of driver logs, DVIR's, trip reports and invoices.
- Record accurately tractor mileages essential for fuel tax monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Record entire mileages for sub as well as rental equipment for Aim and Conway.
- Review driver's hours properly and submit apt timecards to payroll.
- Perform in collaboration with Transportation Manager to enhance load capacity and reduce damaged merchandise and loading errors.
- Handle client concerns and direct problems to suitable parties.
- Prepare schedule for external backhauls as well as review external backhaul prospects.
- Record driver concerns along with policy violations and direct main issues to Transportation Manager.
- Ensure to address safety infractions along with D.O.T. violations as recorded by Safety Director to every company driver.
- Support management team to supervise transportation personnel.
