I have completed my 2-year training towards becoming an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer at Fujairah Aviation Academy in the United Arab Emirates. I have been employed as intern at Execujet (Dubai) and have gained approximately 640 hours practical experience and on the job training in various areas of private jet aircraft maintenance and repairs.

I am proud to mention that I have been one of the top two performers in my class; this serves to prove that I am dedicated, performance orientated and focussed on achieving my goals.

Since relocating back to South Africa, I have worked as Sales Specialist for an Aviation Fuel company, which supplies bulk AVGAS, Jet Fuel and various types of chemicals to a variety of industries. I am currently employed as an apprentice in the FMCG printing industry.

Although I found the position to be interesting, my passion lies in the technical field and I am now seeking employment opportunities to establish myself in a new career path. I am technically inclined and rather see myself working in a technical environment. My vision is to qualify and build a successful career as artisan.

Although my training and experience were in the aviation field, I am confident that the experience gained will give me a solid foundation for executing tasks in other industries.

I have the ability to work well under pressure; I respect diversity of team members and my excellent communication and interpersonal skills will ensure that I have a good working relationship with my colleagues.

EXECUJET (DUBAI) 27 October 2019 – Sept 2020

Appointed as Intern, I have gained experience through on the job training on Bombardier and Falcon Turbine Engine Jet Aircrafts.
Gained experience in interpreting and navigating manuals
Have also received theoretical training and experience on human factors, tool control, electrical wire interconnection systems and other related systems.
Gained experience on how all the different aircraft mechanical systems work.

Example: Fuel and Hydraulic systems, Landing Gear, Brake and Steering systems, Anti Ice and De-icing systems and flight control systems

Gained experience - basic knowledge on some of the aircrafts electrical systems.

Example: Alternator/Generator. The Battery, Bus Bar, Fuses and Circuit breakers, Voltage Regulator, Ammeter/Load meter.

Also learned about the different lights of the aircraft and electrical/digital systems used inside the cockpit of the aircraft.

I have gained approximately 640 hours practical experience on various parts of the aircraft, including interior removal and installation, landing gear wheel removal, installation and servicing, engine thrust reverser actuator lubrication, sealant application, paint touch-ups, defueling of the aircraft, raising and lowering of aircrafts using hydraulic jacks, etc
Also received a Safety course called Safety Management System. This means I have an understanding of how to be safe in the work place, how to identify hazards and how to avoid them.
Received human factors training. The study of Human Factors is about understanding human behavior and performance. Human Factors knowledge is used to optimize the fit between people and the systems in which they work in order to improve safety and performance.
Gained a comprehensive overview of the effect and management of Human Factors in aviation with this foundation course. The operational Human Factors knowledge gained on this course can also be applied to safety investigation activities.

Studied at FAA towards obtaining a license as Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, underwent training on the B1.1 Aeroplanes Turbine Engine, B1.2 Aeroplanes Piston Efor 2 years, studied towards obtaining my B1.1 and B1.2 Aircraft Maintenance License.
I am proud to be one of the top performers in my class, where only two of us completed the required training successfully
