Job title : Project Design Technician

Duties

• Electrical & electronic designs and concept applications, ensuring that the designs are implemented per SANS and other relevant regulations and requirements.
• Compilation of technical specification, design drawings, technical datasheets and Bill of Quantities,
• Oversee smooth running of a project through the various stages
• Project cost controls, contract documentation and project management
• Coordination with other disciplines on a project
• Designs and calculations, e.g., load calculations, lighting level simulations, Fault level and volt drop calculations, ICT designs, etc
• Design and Specification of various electrical components.
• Low voltage cable sizing and cable route designs, project coordination and interface management with other engineering disciplines
• Preparation of properly formatted drawings based on engineering sketches and mark-ups using various software (Revit, AutoCAD, etc)
• Attending site and technical meetings of projects to ensure quality of work.
• Recommending to management concerning projects and expressing innovative ideas.
• Figuring out project costs, buying material and designing work office procedures for business expansion into competitive commercial market.
• Compiling snag lists and snag reports.
• Witnessing and approval of COC's.
• Preparing final reports for completed work/projects.
• Verifying and approving of end-user operator manuals and issuing to the client.
