Junior Quantitative Analyst with a keen interest in applying quantitative methods to help companies identify profitable investment opportunities and manage risk. I started my career as a math and science tutor where I developed a passion for numbers and applied for an entry level position in the finance industry while I completed my degree in Quantitative Finance. In the finance industry I worked in banking and insurance where I learnt how to collect data, verify data and use it to build forecast models that were used to predict returns on investments/ calculate potential risks on insurance policies.
I also gained knowledge of IFRS9 financial instruments standard for calculation of credit impairments. I used programs such as Excel, SQL , MatLAB and Python to build the forecast models and analyse trends in data
