• To ensure that construction vehicles are in good condition and utilizing fuel efficiently and do not smoke
• Periodically watering the bare surface and excavation during construction to keep the dust levels down
• Slowing down the vehicles carrying the construction materials to reduce dust generation
• providing and using the safety equipment such as dust mask, ear protection and eyes cover for employees who work on dust and noise areas

• ensure the refueling, fuel loading, unloading, oil changed outs, waste storage and disposal activities must be carefully managed to prevent spillages
• to ensure toilets are available on site for use by construction stuff at all times
• ensure that any water tat is used which does not emanate from municipality supplies must be registered and authorizes by the department of water affairs
• any work /activities which may pose hazard to humans and domestics animals are to be protected or cordoned off and if appropriate warning signal erected
• ensure an appropriate security to be provided at the site to protect equipment and provide for a safe construction site and works areas
• ensure all the stuff on site should be trained on how to handle emergency situation and emergency rehearsals should be conducted periodically
