Khulekani Masango

I have recently completed my bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering at the University of Pretoria . I would define myself as someone who has an open mindset meaning I am always willing to learn new things and I also have a positive attitude towards learning and that alone makes it easy for me to quickly grasp and absorb new content and adapt to the new systems. My strengths include being a good listener and a good communicator, being a good listener makes it easy for me to understand and take instructions and being a good communicator has helped alot in most of the engineering multi-disciplinary projects that I have worked on in my undergraduate modules and we were able to properly collaborate and work together as team of mechanical ,electrical and civil engineering students.

I have learnt more about maintenance from my previous job where my role was to do minor and major services which included replacement of hydraulic seals replacement , oil filter changes and bearings replacement. The other factor that has always been a priority to me is safety at the workplace of which I believe it is achieved by doing risk assessment, taking safety precautions into consideration all the time and I got to learn about this in my undergraduate modules that required laboratory practicals . I strongly believe that the knowledge and the skills that I have acquired will help me alot in this role.

One of the skills that I have acquired in the journey of completing my studies includes 3D design ,modeling and simulation . The other skills that I have includes python programming language and the microsoft package which is excel , word and powerpoint .Most of the mentioned requirements on the advertisement are matching my skills and abilities , these includes usage of dynamic multibody simulation software programs like solidworks of which I have been using for almost 4 years in my undergraduate engineering projects ,coding and usage of general machines , turning level 1 , milling and fitting .The other skills that I have mastered includes professional report writing of which I have been doing alot in my final year of study since we were required to write technical reports after each design project.
