- Raw Materials Control: Ensure raw materials conform to specs and reject any that don't
- Check all suppliers are food safety compliance
- Liaise regularly with suppliers on expectations, rejects, needs etc.
- Perform regular audits / inspections on suppliers' premises

- View all reports, note trends and bring to management's attention any area of concern

- Investigate and control, together with the management, all customer returns
- Implementation of food safety systems
- Create all appropriate documentation for all audits and inspections
- Ensure all tests, in-house audits etc. are performed timeously
- Draw up procedures, programs, specifications etc. for all products, processes and ensure full implementation is undertaken and maintained
- Revise all documents when the need arises
- Formalize risk assessment and implement safety controls for new/existing processes
- Arrange internal/external training for personnel on GMP and GHP
- Ensure products/operations conform to legal requirements
- Keep abreast with changes in legislations, regulations and standards to ensure company regulatory and legislative compliance
- Liaise with external food safety auditors and submit/drive correction action reports and implement corrective actions
- Communicate with maintenance and factory staff with regards to food safety requirements
- Train and develop personnel
- Ensure that document control and record keeping is maintained
- Oversee correct procedure adhered to with regards to wearing and launder of uniforms
- Investigate what is required to obtain and maintain Export status
- Work with management to put the required systems and processes in place and maintain systems
- Manage the accreditation process and the annual re-registration
- Work alongside management to ensure these processes are effectively communicated at management and staff levels manage the ongoing practical, physical, administrative and process requirements to ensure accreditation is maintained
- Developing new products to suit customer requirements
- Sourcing and trailing alternate ingredients for contingency plans
- Conduct Lab trials and technically advise factory trial productions
- Maintaining supplier approval program
- Maintaining stock levels of all raw materials at adequate levels
- Keeping adequate supply of cleaning chemical
