Following my tertiary education, I've gained almost 20 years' experience as the SHE Manager at three multi-national companies (Firestone, Lear E-Systems and Goodyear SA) in the Manufacturing and Automotive Industry. Over the years, I have developed my skills from being the sole person in the EHS department to leading a diverse team of Safety Specialists. My team are energized, we adapt to change, and we respect the values (mission and vision) that we created to define our EHS team.
I represented my employers at overseas EHS Workshops where we defined and implemented the strategy for the next 1-5 years, with our plant's TIR results (below 1) being in the Top Ten globally, obtaining zero major findings during external ISO audits and sharing our Best Practices with the Region. We are proud to have a Zero Waste to Landfill status to ensure we not only reduce waste at source but also encourage employees to have an environmental mindset that secures their future and the sustainability of our plant. I played an integral role when we merged our ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 9001 systems to become an Integrated Management System where I worked closely with the Quality Manager.
I have experience in the FMCG sector, since my role at the Military includes canteen cross-contamination audits, HACCP, ensuring hygienic food preparation and sanitation checks at the two messes (military canteens).
