I'm a seasoned Business Manager who's spent years in the South African and Middle Eastern Motor and Trucking industry.
Having started my career at Volkswagen of South Africa, I transitioned to the Retail side of the business where I was earmarked, assessed and seconded to enrol for a Senior Management programme at Stellenbosch University's Business School in 2006. Being part of a group of 15 delegates from all over South Africa, with similar aspirations and goals, brought some urgency and commitment. Here we were coached by experts in the field of Finance
HR
Market Perspective Management.
This opportunity and privilege fuelled my urge to be a successful GM in the South African Motor Industry to such an extent that I was honoured with the Best Student of 2006 accolade.
In hindsight, this programme sharpened my:
Ability to maximise Operational Assets
Renewed focus on Employee Ability and Impact
Ability to gain clear agreement from staff
Skill to encourage organisational and individual responsibility
Ability to set appropriate standards of behaviour
Decisiveness in identifying and organising the resources needed
Personally, my beliefs are:
Doing what you say you will In the eyes of the customer and shareholder, we never get a second chance to make a first impression.
"Opportunities" are never lost, should we not take them -
our opposition will.
All personnel count enough to be cared for.
Fail to prepare - Prepare to fail.
