As a 31 year old with matric - I know that what I'm lacking is both career choice and experience. However, I have used my time working in various work places to develop many of the required skills for the job. For example I've started off in retail (customer service) in 2011, then I've also worked in manufacturing and quality assist (working in a plant).
I did data capturing, worked in logistics (picking, packing, sealing etc) and also some admin work recently. I've learned how to multitask and prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines. From what I understand, in your fast paced business, the abilities to effectively prioritize tasks, work with self discipline and always keeping room for improvement and being open-minded are significant components to success.
I have a great sense of work ethic and people skills. I love working with people as it improves my ability to adjust and understand different personalities. I am a quiet yet sociable person, I can engage easily with people then again I also like spending time by myself, lost in thought and observing my surroundings. One of my other passions or I would say traits are, leading a group, as I've been a squad leader in College, I guess it just comes to me easily.
As a plant/machine operator for 3 years at Rheinmetall Denel Munitions, I have worked with missile propellant packing it into combustible cases, manufacturing of casings (operating a machine) and also quality checking the casings. I have done assembling of different types of ammunition components such as inserting of springs, rotor shafts, pressure plates, locking pins, etc. into fuzes for under water granades. And also cleaning of all machinery and good house keeping everyday.
As for my admin experience at The Foschini Group as a Distribution Centre Associate for 3 years, I have worked with customer service requests in the Jewerly department, via emails and telephone calls.
