I am a young black female engineering student who is currently doing her final year of study at the University of the Witwatersrand. I am from a small village in KZN, Bergville. I chose to study electrical engineering because from a young age, I have always been fascinated by electricity and I wanted to better understand how it is produced. I am self-driven and self-motivated and I have a strong work ethic. I have good communication skills and I can work efficiently in a team.
I have not been exposed to industry as yet. I have no experience working in the field. I have done academic-related projects for the past years while studying. I would say this gave me a chance to improve my leadership skills when working in groups, and it improved my communication skills with others.
I completed my matric in 2018 where I achieved an NSC certificate.
