DUTIES:

Provide End-Users support 

• Determine future network, hardware and software requirements at Head Office
• Implement IT process and maintenance to all software and hardware on End-Users computers
• Maintenance of software license

• Troubleshoot LAN (local area network) WAN (wide area network).
• Use of Email (Groupwise), OUTLOOK, Internet, Intranet 
• Use of Microsoft, Powerpoint Microsoft office (Microsoft word, Powerpoint, Access, Excel
•  Configure Groupwise Client for emails
• Administration helpdesk, telephonic support
• Attend to the districts for desktop technical support
• Install computers windows Xp, 
• Render network support services
•  Installation and troubleshooting of Benen, Electronic registry
• Install various i.t systems e.g. Microsoft office (Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Access, outlook etc.), BAS (basic accounting skills), Hard cat 
• Use of Novell Netware 6.5
• Installation, troubleshooting, maintaining of Netware systems
• Manage BAS process in the region with bas administrator
• Facilitate the registration of computers and users for Persal access in the region
• Maintenance of software licenses
• Ensure standardization of hardware in the region
• Installation of Sophos antivirus, configuring & cleaning viruses
• Cascade PERSAL, BAS and EDNA updates to district officials
• Administer Kaspersky Antivirus server, Windows Server 2008,2012
• Ensure a reliable computer communication amongst the various sites/location
• Manages resources efficiently, effectively, economically and in accordance with the principles of fairness and quality as outlined by section 38 & 45 of the PFMA.

• Install and Configure EDNA, Persal and BAS in Head Office
• Support operating system such as Windows 9x, Xp, Windows 7,8,8.1,10 AND 11
• Ensures all IT hardware and software is adequately maintained

DEPARTMENT : UMZIMKHULU LOCAL MUNICIPALITY

DUTIES:

Ensure network management.

• User account on desktop and laptop (mailbox and windows). 
• Unlocking of passwords using admin pack. Setting up desktop, printers and data projects. 
• Assist in maintaining a service catalogue and standard operating procedures. Implementation of IT services desk policies. Perform backup’s information and anti-virus support and offsite storage.
•  Perform trouble shooting and diagnosis. Support the availability of services, internet services, application services on workstation and availability of connection to transversal mainframe system. Install, maintain, and support telephone system and network. 
• Perform installation, configuration, testing and upgrade tasks that may require some research and analysis. Provide telephonic support. Provide network cabling. Perform PC installation and software installations. Provide technical support for the configuration, installation, repair and replacement of computers, printers and telephones.
