- Welcoming doctors, staff, patients to the unit
- Answering of telephone calls
- Taking messages
- Housekeeping, making sure the duty stations is neat and tidy
- Allocating patients in the unit and making sure there are beds allocated and ready
- Making sure the patient is admitted via reception and has a patient file with correct labels
- Keep a record of patients (labels) in the admission book
- Taking bookings from doctor's rooms for patients coming into the unit (daily)
- Making sure I take correct information as per booking procedure, notify registered nurse of any admission and or transfers
- Calling reception to print labels for patients, discharge and or transfers
- FAD rounds in the units, checking that all items are in use and reporting if not
