- Collect invoices from dispatch/transport department each morning
- Retrieve truck keys and proceed to dispatch area
- Sort freight and material according to delivery consignments
- Check for damages and create discrepancy reports
- Load freight according to delivery route stops
- Lock and seal truck with padlock for safety
- Perform pre-trip inspection by checking truck external and internal components
- Check water, brake fluid, oil, battery, tire pressure, and diesel levels
- Report any maintenance defaults to supervisor or transport manager
- Check safety equipment including triangle and fire extinguisher
- Complete delivery log book with time out and kilometers out
- Plan route according to cost and time
- Report any road delays to inform customers
- Follow all road safety laws and regulations
- Complete delivery log book upon customer arrival with time in and kilometers
- Ensure no damages occur during offloading
- Verify invoices are signed and stamped correctly by customers
- Record arrival and departure times in log book
- Check truck for maintenance faults during route

Operating refrigerated trucks for food transport with specialized duties including truck and trailer maintenance, temperature control management, and long-distance route management. Performing comprehensive pre-trip inspections and monitoring fridge temperature throughout journeys. Managing scheduled rest periods during long drives and maintaining vehicle cleanliness. Coordinating with dispatch and customers regarding trip updates and load organization.
- Ensure truck is clean internally and externally and roadworthy
- Perform pre-trip inspection checking truck external and internal components
- Tick or write on checking inspection list during vehicle checks
- Check water, brake fluid, oil, battery, tire pressure, and all hose pipes
- Check diesel levels in main tank and fridge trailer tank
- Ensure all safety equipment is on hand including red triangle and fire extinguisher
- Report any maintenance defaults to supervisor or transport manager
- Check fridge is working correctly and has sufficient diesel
- Carry log book to record all trips
- Record time in and kilometers upon customer arrival
- Set fridge temperature according to freight type (e.g., -25 degrees for frozen meat, -1 degrees for fresh meat)
- Follow customer temperature setting instructions
- Do not depart customer until temperature is correct
- Obtain POD papers from customer
- Ensure trailer is locked properly and sealed by customer
- Plan route according to cost and time
- Record time out before departing
- Stop every 2 hours of driving to stretch and prevent fatigue
- Check fridge temperature during driving stops
- Inspect truck clockwise for mechanical maintenance faults while driving
- Take rest and sleep at safe truck stop places if tired
- Bathe or shower after rest to refresh body
- Recheck truck after rest before continuing route
- Report any road delays to dispatch supervisor and customer
- Follow all road safety laws and regulations
- Complete delivery log book upon customer arrival
- Ensure all paperwork is correctly signed and stamped upon offloading
- Inform control room after offloading to organize next trip
- Clean truck and trailer before proceeding to next customer
- Submit all paperwork upon return to yard or office
- Take truck to truck wash to prepare for next load
