About

I’m a forensic investigator with a background in internal audit and a strong focus on fraud, compliance, and governance.

Currently at the SIU, I investigate maladministration and financial misconduct, working with evidence, conducting interviews, and compiling reports that support disciplinary and legal action.

Before that, I worked in consulting where I did forensic investigations and probity reviews for organisations like UNISA and City Power, mainly focusing on procurement risks, irregular expenditure, and strengthening controls.

I’ve also done a lot of work on UIFW investigations and loss quantification.

Overall, I bring a mix of investigation and audit experience, with a solid understanding of public sector regulations, and I’m comfortable working on cases that require both detail and accountability.

Experience

I have over 10 years of experience across forensic investigations, internal audit, and risk assurance within both the public and private sectors.

My career started in external audit at the Auditor-General, after which I moved into internal audit roles where I focused on evaluating controls, compliance, and governance processes.

I then transitioned into forensic investigations, working on cases involving fraud, financial misconduct, and procurement irregularities across organisations such as Transnet, City Power, and UNISA.

In my consulting roles, I conducted UIFW investigations, probity reviews, and risk assessments, often identifying control failures, quantifying losses, and recommending corrective actions.

Currently, at the SIU, I investigate corruption and maladministration within state institutions, compiling evidence-based reports to support consequence management and legal processes.

Overall, my experience combines investigative depth with strong audit and compliance knowledge, particularly within the public sector.

Education

I hold a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting

I have further specialised through certifications in Forensic and Investigative Auditing from UNISA, and Law for Forensic Practitioners from the University of Pretoria

I am also currently pursuing my Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) qualification
