Lynne Roos

I'm Lynne Roos, a senior agricultural economists with over 7 years of professional experience within the agricultural industry as an agricultural and development economist in the consultancy industry. Currently, I'm the manager of the Agribusiness Unit at a reputable consultancy firm based in Pretoria, where I'm responsible for managing junior and senior agricultural economists.

I have been involved in the development and management of various business plans, feasibility studies, economic advisory support, research for development projects, SMME development, and consultation in the agricultural industry.My work experience has led me to develop a unique set of skills for analysing agricultural markets, forecasting, project management, risk assessment as well as environmental economics. My field of interest is rural development with a focus on developing strategies in response to development limitations that are experienced in rural areas, together with the improvement of the South African agricultural industry through innovative and sustainable methods. I have worked in Lesotho as well as Botswana where I was actively involved in the planning phases of the resuscitation of their agricultural value chains.

Apart from my BSc Agric (Economics & Agribusiness Management) degree obtained in 2016, I have completed a short course in project management (2018) and received my advance certificate in crop production in 2020.
