Maalik Cassiem

I am currently completing my Bachelor of Social Sciences with a major in psychology and sociology. I am hard-working, driven and work well in teams. I enjoy new challenges and learning.

I have worked in retail during my semester breaks. I have worked as a sales agent in Edgars at Somerset West for a month. I was responsible for directly dealing with customer concerns, which included looking and sorting through stock for a particular clothing item. I have also replenished clothing racks. This has allowed me to hone and develop important soft skills that are transferable to any work environment. These skills include time management, resourcefulness, and quick thinking.

I am currently completing my Bachelor's degree at The University of Cape Town. During this time I have been able to develop some of the soft skills mentioned in my professional experience, including additional skills such as critical thinking, writing research reports, and statistical analysis. I have been exposed to various platforms (Excel, Word, Google Documents) that I have needed to engage with, to complete assignments and tasks. This has allowed me to develop my technological literacy.
