I am a go getter who needs to get a better opportunity in life. I am qualified in microbiology but has 10 + years experience in clinical technology. I would absolutely live the opportunity to go and work abroad as I always dreamt about it. I have a minor boy of 12 years old who would love to join me in a new adventure! I am hard working and will walk the extra mile.
I started my career at Pathology University of Pretoria in 1985. Qualified in Microbiology and after 5 years gained a job at Du Buisson labs in Pretoria doing Elisa test mainly on Citomegalovirus and Epstein Barr virus. I also worked after hours sampling serum for test and doing HIV tests.
After 3 years I located to Du Buissons in Nelspruit a much smaller lab. There we had to work in all the clinical divisions especially after hours. I had to go to the patient to get my own samples. Doing all the chemistry, serology, haemathology and microbiology tests required.
Feeding the data in, printing the results, faxed or phoned the doctor with the info required.
My latest job was at Lancet. Working as a microbiologist. Doing microscopy of organisms on urine, faeces, blood all swabs and semen and tuberculosis. Cultavating specimens on agar, reading of plates and identifying pathogens and doing culture sensitivity to antibiotics.Feeding info into computer and working after hours when emergency help was needed. 5 years
