I am a dedicated Foundation Phase educator and Learning Support teacher with experience in both independent and public school contexts. My professional experience has allowed me to develop strong expertise in early childhood education, inclusive education, and mathematics teaching in the Foundation Phase. In my current role as a Mathematics Lead Teacher, I facilitate professional development workshops and collaborate with colleagues to strengthen mathematics pedagogy and learner outcomes.
I am currently pursuing a Master of Education (MEd), where my research focuses on play-based learning and language development in the Foundation Phase. My academic interests include early childhood education, inclusive education, language development, and the teaching of mathematics in the early grades. These interests guide both my classroom practice and my engagement with research.
As a Learning Support educator, I work closely with learners who require additional academic support, which has strengthened my commitment to inclusive and responsive teaching practices. I am particularly passionate about preparing future teachers to create supportive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environments that meet the diverse needs of learners.
I am interested in contributing to higher education through teaching, mentoring student teachers, and engaging in scholarly work that bridges educational theory and classroom practice. I value collaborative learning, reflective practice, and the development of teachers who are equipped to make meaningful contributions to the education system.
I have been teaching in the Foundation Phase since 2016 and have gained experience in both independent and public school contexts. I taught at Mahlasedi Masana School from 2016 to 2019, Curro Thatchfield from 2019 to 2021, and I am currently teaching at La Montagne Primary School, where I have been employed since 2021. In my current position, I also serve as a Mathematics Lead Teacher and Learning Support educator, where I facilitate professional development workshops and provide academic support to learners requiring additional assistance.

I hold a Bachelor of Education (BEd) in Foundation Phase Teaching and a BEd Honours in Learning Support, which strengthened my knowledge and skills in inclusive education and supporting learners with diverse learning needs. I am currently pursuing a Master of Education (MEd), where my research focuses on play-based learning and language development in the Foundation Phase. My academic background has equipped me with strong theoretical and practical understanding of early childhood education, inclusive teaching practices, and educational research.
