Assist in the installation of light current systems like telecommunications, security systems, data networks, fire alarms and audio/video systems.
Assisting in wiring different types of control panels, junction boxes and devices associated with light current systems.
Assist in troubleshooting faults in low voltage systems
Perform maintenance checks on installed system to ensure functionality, testing components like sensors, controllers and data equipment.
Test systems after installation to ensure they meet performance requirements.
Carry out electrical inspections in accordance with national or local regulations and standards.
Learn how to handle and terminate cables for light current systems, ensuring correct wiring of terminals, connectors, and plugs.
Understand different types of wiring methods and how they are used for various applications.
Study and understand electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
Assist in interpreting system layouts and specifications for installations and repairs.
Learn and adhere to safety practices including the proper use of persona protective equipment (PPE) and electrical safety protocols.
