Mandisa is a certified Environmental Scientist who graduated from Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) with a Three-year diploma in environmental management. Other qualifications include a Master of Science in Waste Engineering and Environmental Resource Management (NQF Level 9) from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (UKZN), a Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Sciences, and a Bachelor of Technology in Project Management. She has 20 years of working experience in Waste and Environmental Management and has worked in all spheres of governance (National, Provincial and local government). She worked for the National Department of Environmental Affairs as a Provincial Project Manager responsible for Waste and Environmental management projects implemented in all Gauteng municipalities. One of her responsibilities was to facilitate partnerships between business, communities and municipalities. In her most recent municipal role, she served as the Divisional Head for Waste and Environmental Management services for the City of Ekurhuleni. Before joining Ekurhuleni, she was the Director of the Waste and Environmental Planning department of Emfuleni Local Municipality.
