My duties as a Farm manager/Production manager is the following.
-Chemical program applications(Spraying of pesticides, foliar feeds and fungicides), timing and stock management
-Fertilizer program applications timing and stock management
-Scouting and training of scouts
-People management (Permanent and seasonal workforce) and training of individuals
-Implementation of health and safety according to company procedures and policies
-Picking and pruning management
-Soil moisture management (irrigation) including working with irrigation probes and ordering of water (water scheduling)
-Record keeping and general farm admin
-Creating farm budgets for the upcoming financial year
-Implementation of health and safety on the farm
-Yield estimates
-General maintenance of Farming equipment
-General farm maintenance (weedkilling, bush cutting, road maintenance )
-Audits of Farm including DALRRD, SIZA and GLOBALGAP
I have 5 years experience as a farm manager/Junior farm manager/Production manager in fruit production industry
I completed matric grade 12 in 2014 at Vereeniging Gimnasium where I studied agricultural management as one of my main subjects
