I am a Analyst/Programmer/Developer primarily with AS400 RPGs, Within these areas has successfully completed a number of commercial projects in the manufacturing and retail industries, obtaining a good working knowledge of techniques. A strong interest and involvement in software development for many years’ transfers directly into the business environment. Strong client facing skills, which have been used to sell ideas and concepts to internal customers.
I am a hands-on Information technologist who is responsible for developing new systems, maintaining and enhancing current systems. I am painstaking and accurate in work with a great attention to detail. My overall tendency is towards perfectionism.
I prefer English speaking countries i.e. UK, UK-Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, USA.
Type of working Environment : Remote, Hybrid and On-site. If relocation is required,obviously, first option will be full company sponsorship to live and work abroad.
Having said that, if I am given a job offer and failing the above benefit, I am willing to relocate at my own cost to live and work.
Even though I am a retired person, I currently work remotely as an AS400 developer from home in my home country South Africa.
I am in very good health, both physically and mentally.

Management of all I.T. resources –

Hardware and software procurement and hardware/software maintenance. Contract negotiation, budgeting/cost control and management of special projects. Very hands on with SDLC, full development cycle including programming/developing in RPGII, RPGIII, RPG400 RPGILE, RPGFREE Lotus Notes and MS Access. I was part of the ERP package evaluation team. Regarding ERP (JDE OneWorld), I was also part of the implementation project team carrying out technical and administrative tasks.

I read the OneWorld DevelopmentGuide. Having read the guide, I created many "How To" documents, etc.

Installing OneWorld Client with AS400 Client Access.

I am also very hands on with the following:
SDLC, Investigation, design, analysis, specification, data base administration, programming (batch, reports, interactive), implementation, maintenance, training and support. Prepare and compile technical and user manuals. Install and maintain AS400 Client Access and PTFs.

I headed up the YEAR 2000 project completely (hardware, software and non-I.T. equipments): Programming and Database changes. Presentations (visual and written) to management e.g.: year 2000 issues and progress and monthly I.T. department progress.
Stock Control Systems, Product Master/Item Master system, Customer Rebate System, Warehousing systems, WIP, Converted Sales Invoices from batch to real-time, Developed interfaces mainly to GL, etc.
I developed these applications using AS400 RPGIII & RPG400, completely from investigation to final implementation and user training including the actual programming. All of the systems I developed definitely made a positive impact in regards to speed, accuracy and cost saving.

I spent two years in Northern Ireland, developing a workflow system/application. This application is now being used in the group worldwide. This application resulted in an enormous improvement, which made a positive impact to the bottom line.
Applications developed in Lotus Notes are Helpdesk, IT Management, Job Requisition.

IBM 370(mainframe), RPGII & JCL, ISAM & VSAM - Programming, testing. A contractor was employed to manage the ISAM to VSAM conversion. The contractor had to leave and I took over leadership and management of the project.

About 2 years prior to development completion of Sales Order Entry, Marketing & Accounts Receivable, I took over as project leader and led it through to final completion. However prior and during the development I was involved in all aspects of the development cycle.
I have done many operating systems upgrades by myself and installed many PTF or Operating system Program Changes.
