I’m Matt Hurst (FIA, FIA C.Act, FASSA), a qualified actuary with 9+

Developed pricing bases and presented these to internal pricing, risk,

and commercial heads for sign-off (who often have conflicting objectives).

Introduced automation tools (web scraping using LLMs, VBA automation etc.), reducing pricing cycle time by roughly 25%.

Led an actuarial workstream for an IFRS 17 implementation project across HSBC’s global insurance subsidiaries.
Undertook a model risk validation for Phoenix’s annuity block of business (post-M&A integration).
