Over the course of my life I have reinvented myself in various ways to suit the stage of my life and the surroundings in which I was living.
I started out in the hotel industry and worked in various positions until I left to manage the DHL agency in Grahamstown. At this point My husband and I moved to Malawi where we lived for 3 years.
Moving back to Grahamstown in 2003 I was offered the opportunity to enter the sales and marketing arena where I travelled the world and South Africa doing Marketing, advertising and training for NISC.
My children were born in 2008 and I decided that I would no longer be able to travel and went into booking keeping and payroll. Since then, I have worked in bookkeeping and various financial and management rolls.
In 2009 I wrote and published 2 children’s books (the third is in progress) and put together book launches to advertise the arrival of each publication. To increase the visibility of the books – I produced a children’s book writing workshop during the National Arts Festival.
Since my children have been at school I have been on the school governing bodies and helped and worked for the PTA.
Over the years I have accumulated numerous skill sets including project management, marketing and communication, event planning, bookkeeping and financial management and tax and payroll management. I am competent in computer skills and enjoy using technology to find simpler and smarter ways to get things done.
I feel that with my varied experiences over the years I am able to tick a number of the boxes required to competently fill the position advertised
